This Is Cornerstone Naz

Cornerstone is a great place to come and connect!

When you come you will find people of all ages worshiping God together. We have several worship opportunities throughout the week. Wednesday nights begin at 6:30pm with classes for every age group! Sunday morning is our largest corporate worship services at 9:30am & 11:15am. Sunday evenings we have Small Groups. And throughout the year we have special classes for membership and discipleship.

Worship

Our worship is a mixture of contemporary yet holy praise and worship. Our Praise Team ushers the congregation into the presence of God, calling on the Holy Spirit to move. We believe in the upward offering of worship, and the blessings He returns through it.

Atmosphere

The service atmosphere is casual. We believe that God calls us into His presence just as we are. Whatever you wear, wherever you are from, our hope is that you encounter God in a new way.

Children’s Worship

We have Faith Kids (Children’s church) every Sunday for K – 5th grade. This is a worship service designed specifically with children in mind. Our desire is that they would encounter God through worship, games, creativity, and studying His word. At Cornerstone we love Children.

There is a Toddler Nursery for walking through age 5yr, and an Infant Nursery for newborn to walking. Parents are welcome to stay with your newborn in a comfortable space. Changing tables and nursing stations are also available for your use.

Uprising Youth

Our Teens are very active! Their Sunday Night and Wednesday Night Youth Services are filled with Worship led by their own students! They have awesome Bible and Life Talks. And they are an integral part of our Corporate Worship on Sunday morning!

Where You Can Serve

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Cornerstone is our mission to make Christlike disciples. It begins in our own community of Wheelersburg, OH, and spreads overseas to every nation. Cornerstone members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as Serving as a Greeter to Leading a Small Group to being a part of the Worship Team.

Mission Outreach

Cornerstone is excited to be part of the spreading of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries and their ministries with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Worship

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Cornerstone, by using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers

The usher team at Cornerstone fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Greeters & Hosts

What can be better than a smiling face and a warm welcome when you walk into church? Especially for a new visitor! We are always looking for people who love to love on other people!

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Cornerstone holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from games, to object lessons.

The HOUSE

We have a Ministry Outreach that serves the community in Portsmouth called The HOUSE! We serve dinner, have Worship Services, Open Share Groups that focus on recovery, community gatherings, guidance for utility and housing assistance, and personal accountability. The HOUSE is always looking for helping hands and willing hearts!
